Joyful Summer

Some of you had heard that all three of us were back in the US for Beth’s wedding in late June.  Our daughter Elizabeth was radiantly beautiful, just like a princess.   The wedding was Christ-centered and great fun.  The wedding exalted God’s perfect plan for marriage.  Thanks for praying.  God answered.

Our Beth is now Mrs. Dustin Melancen.  The newlyweds had a great honeymoon and are settling in very well in Rockford, Illinois.  Beth will be back at school this fall.  Dustin is busy building bridges and roads as a construction engineer.

Other summer news:

  • Elaine had two pre-evangelism outreaches for women on our patio this summer.
  • John’s doctoral project proposal was accepted and he is now officially a doctoral candidate.
  • Elaine had a family reunion after 15 years with her two brothers and one sister.
  • John got to hang out with his mom and two sisters several times.
  • Tim has been dabbling in studying written Japanese.
  • We are keeping up with relationships with our Japanese friends and contacts.
  • We worked at several home projects completing our second backyard patio (please drop by).
  • At one Japanese church John preached on unity right after they had an interpersonal conflict of which he was totally unaware (A God thing!).
  • Elaine had a great LeadNet meeting with the women in Toyohashi, Aichi prefecture.
  • John tried out his new rubber boat while we were tent camping this summer.
  • We are all trying to keep from melting in the sweltering Tokyo summer.
