What is a Resolution?
A resolution adopted at a BGC annual meeting has traditionally been considered an expression of conviction or concern, as compared to a motion, which calls for action. A resolution in not used to direct BGC or its affiliated district conferences or churches to specific action other than to communicate the conviction or concern expressed in the resolution. Resolutions are passed by a majority vote of the delegates present at the annual meeting.
How to submit a Resolution
Current policy requires that proposed resolutions be submitted in advance of the annual meeting. Proposed resolutions and other items of proposed business must be submitted to the annual meeting Committee on Business at least 30 days prior to the annual meeting. If you are interested in submitting a resolution for consideration by the Committee on Business, please see the following requirements and procedures.
* Indicates a resolution introduced by an individual delegate as a matter of new business.
All other resolutions were introduced by an official resolutions committee or other officially appointed BGC committee. |
